Mixed Media Art is a type of Artwork that mixes different media or materials into one piece. E.g.- A piece of art that combines an acrylic painting with fabric and paper is mixed media art.
Mixed media is often seen in the form of a collage(in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranges and stuck down onto a supporting surface) or Assemblage (A 3D mixed media collage with various materials or Decoupage(a craft that involves gluing fabric/paper cutouts onto objects then sealed to look like a painting). Artists can add different textures and effects to their pieces that would not otherwise be possible with just one material.
Mixed media art allows you to get experimental with using any combo of materials and mediums with zero restrictions.
