Mixed Media Art

Mixed Media Art is a type of Artwork that mixes different media or materials into one piece. E.g.- A piece of art that combines an acrylic painting with fabric and paper is mixed media art.

Mixed media is often seen in the form of a collage(in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranges and stuck down onto a supporting surface) or Assemblage (A 3D mixed media collage with various materials or Decoupage(a craft that involves gluing fabric/paper cutouts onto objects then sealed to look like a painting). Artists can add different textures and effects to their pieces that would not otherwise be possible with just one material.

Mixed media art allows you to get experimental with using any combo of materials and mediums with zero restrictions.

Mixed Media Art Lessons:

1. Introduction to Mixed media Art – Knowledge of mixed media art materials, how and when to use them in a painting.
2. Talk about different techniques used in mixed media painting- e.g.- art Journaling; Stamping; Stencilling; playing with paper; transferring images; adding texture etc. 
3. To start a painting from scratch without good drawing skills, first Choose a scene then start with a textured background.
4. Develop your painting according to your desired scene.
5. Finally Complete one painting of your own.
